ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - As students prepare to return to school in Rockland Monday for the first time since a fatal bus crash more than a week ago, the superintendent has sent a letter to families and staff.
12-year-old Brayden Callahan died after being run over by a school bus on Friday, November 21st.
In the letter shared on Facebook, superintendent John McDonald says they will continue to have increased counseling available for students and staff, particularly at Oceanside Middle School and South School.
He says students taking the bus will be greeted by their driver and a volunteer staff member who will ride along on the morning bus run Monday.
McDonald also announced the bus involved in the crash, bus 9, has been decommissioned.
