MAUMEE, Ohio — Two pedestrians were killed after being hit by a vehicle on the side of I-475 South in Maumee.
The crash occurred Sunday just before 5:30 p.m.
According to a press release, a 19-year-old was traveling south on I-475 when the driver struck two pedestrians, ages 29 and 30, who were walking on the left shoulder next to their disabled vehicle.
One pedestrian died at the scene, while the other was taken to the hospital where they also died from their injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continue to investigate the crash and said alcohol and drug impairment do not appear to be a factor.
