On Monday at 6:35 a.m. a winter storm watch was released by the National Weather Service valid from Tuesday 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Hamilton, Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.
The weather service describes, "Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations over seven inches possible."
"Travel could be dangerous due to snow covered roadways and reduced visibility," describes the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways.
