A former Parkland School District arts director has admitted to secretly recording a student without his consent.
Francis Anonia, 44, of the Allentown area, appeared Monday before Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Judge Robert L. Steinberg. He pleaded guilty to all charges of five counts each felony intercepting communications and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as nine misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy.
Steinberg ordered Anonia’s bail be revoked. He faces a penalty of 44 to 88 years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for at least the next 15 years. A future evaluation will determine if Anonia must register for the rest of his life, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office said.
