A Hamtramck man who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in February 2024 has been sentenced to prison.

Circuit Court Judge Michael West ordered Mansoor Obaid, 23, to serve a minimum of six years and up to 15 years in prison Monday, Dec. 1, for second- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Though Obaid alleged he did not know the victim was a juvenile, West expressed skepticism that he could have mistaken a 12-year-old for an adult.
