A supervisor broke down in tears as he described the moment he witnessed a dad-of-two die whilst manning a ‘dangerous machine’ at work.

Anthony John Paul McLaughlin was killed 'immediately' after he entered a machine at his workplace on November 29, 2023. The 41-year-old was a machine operator at manufacturing firm, Oldham Engineering.

He had worked at the company for a decade prior to his death. An inquest at Rochdale Coroners Court yesterday (December 3) heard him described as an experienced “good engineer”.

The court was told how Mr McLaughlin, from Moston, “got along with everybody” and was known to be a big Manchester United fan.
