A 32-year-old man was ordered to serve nearly five years in prison Wednesday for a shooting 3-½ years ago at an Eastpointe bar.

Orandael Latef Spencer-Rex Jr., 32, received the sentence from Macomb County Circuit Judge James Maceroni after pleading no contest to reduced charges of two each of counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and felony firearm possession in exchange for dismissal of two counts of attempted murder and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

The case stems from a May 7, 2022 shooting at what was then known as Ray’s Boom Boom Room, which is now named Our Bar and Grill, on Gratiot Avenue near Toepfer Drive. One victim was shot in the groin and another in the buttocks during a dispute over a woman, according
