Conover Man Sentenced to 6-8 Years in Prison for Fentanyl Trafficking NEWTON, N.C. — Jordan Ashlee Abernathy, 47, of Conover, was sentenced Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, to an active prison term of six to eight years after a Catawba County jury found him guilty on all charges in a two-day trial, District Attorney D. Scott Reilly announced. Superior Court Judge Peter Knight imposed the sentence along with a mandatory $500,000 fine. Abernathy will serve his time in the custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction.
