GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia Police are investigating after someone allegedly posed as an FBI agent and stole hundreds of dollars from a Subway in Gaston County last week.
According to a police report, the incident occurred at the Subway on West Franklin Boulevard on Nov. 29. Investigators say the thief stole nearly $600 in cash from the restaurant's safe. Gastonia Police now say the incident is being investigated as a phone scam.
The report lists two fraud charges, including computer/wire fraud and impersonation. It's unclear if any arrests have been made or if detectives have identified a suspect.
