Nick Saban said Friday that Lane Kiffin really couldn’t win.

Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU on Sunday, and Saban was one of the people who advised him on the decision.

“I don’t think you can go from one SEC school to another without a whole bunch of people getting pissed off. That’s just the fact of the matter,” Saban said during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“You got these passionate fanbases on both sides of the fence. Anybody who is viewed as somebody who sort of promoted one thing over the other is probably going to be criticized, too.”

Saban explained he has people calling him all the time for career advice. He tries to help, he said, for the love of the game.
