After winning his eighth state title as a head coach Friday night in Birmingham, Rush Propst made one thing clear.
“I’m open for business,” he said.
Propst took over Coosa Christian as the interim coach in August after the school suspended coach Mark O’Bryant for the 2025 season, a move that allowed the AHSAA to lift the Conquerors’ restrictive probation and made them playoff eligible.
Under Propst, the Conquerors lost their first two games of the season before reeling off 13 straight wins, including Friday’s dramatic 29-22 win over Lanett in the Class 2A title game . The win gave Coosa its first state football title.
“It was a wonderful journey,” Propst said. “Tough but wonderful because of the kids.”
