A proposed clampdown on fly-tipping in Solihull appears set to be rolled out following the latest statistics revealing thousands of incidents. Figures from Solihull Council show that during 2024-2025 there were 3,024 fly-tipping cases, representing a decrease of 752 compared to the previous year.
The council examined 140 incidents which resulted in three prosecutions and seven fixed penalty notices. Three significant fly-tipping cases were spotlighted in a council document, all occurring at a layby on Fen End Road where industrial refuse was abandoned, ultimately leading to a successful court prosecution, reports Birmingham Live .
Officer Louise Baggott, the council's head of regulatory services, shared these statistics at the recent stronger communities and neighbourhood services sc
