Meet Britain's finest prison pooch - a tennis ball-obsessed black labrador capable of detecting drugs in any line-up.

Three-and-a-half year old Eric was crowned champion at the HMPPS Dog Trial Finals earlier this year.

He and his handler Charlie Mullard, 38, took part in a series of trials and triumphed over more than 200 other teams.

Over two days in Warwickshire , Eric had to successfully identify drugs being carried by individuals in a line-up, followed by another challenge where he needed to ignore tempting distractions whilst locating drugs hidden in 16 different containers.

In the concluding section, Eric worked with Charlie to detect as many drugs as possible on a rack filled with overalls in merely one minute and 30 seconds.
