A 42-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a utility pole in Rockland County, authorities said.
The incident that led to the arrest happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, when Ramapo Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Spook Rock Road near Route 202, Detective Lt. Chris Franklin said on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
When officers arrived, they found that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a utility pole, Franklin said.
The driver, a 42-year-old man from Pomona whose name was not made public, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and later charged with aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher.
He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court at a later date.
