Shashi Tharoor attended the dinner hosted for the Russian President.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said on Saturday that he attended a dinner hosted for Russian President Vladimir Putin on 5 December. He described the atmosphere as pleasant and engaging, adding that he enjoyed his conversations with the Russian delegation.

Tharoor shared the update on X. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, were not invited to the event.

Congress leader Pawan Khera questioned Tharoor’s presence at the dinner, saying that if senior leaders were not invited but Tharoor was, “one should understand the game.”

Tharoor responded that he had received the invitation in his capacity as Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee
