GRAND FORKS — A hostage was saved when law enforcement officers entered an apartment and shot a woman who posed a threat during an incident in Grand Forks, according to a report from the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred Friday evening, Dec. 5, in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue North in Grand Forks and involved officers from the county as well as the Grand Forks Police Department. It started when a woman called into dispatch to say she was holding a man hostage in the apartment.
According to the report sent to the media, "officers were able to locate the apartment unit inside the building. Officers were made aware of exigent circumstances, requiring them to make entry into the apartment to protect the hostage."
