(WFSB) - 81 wins, two conference championships, eight bowl games, twice named conference coach of the year, 11 NFL draft picks. That’s what Jason Candle, UConn’s new football coach has accomplished in 11 seasons at Toledo.
This season, the 46-year-old coach went 8 and 4 and again led his team to a bowl game.
In the Mid-American conference, he beat UMass and Ball State, teams that UConn has on its schedule.
The transition from successful mid major head coach to UConn and it’s independent schedule featuring several mid major opponents should be seamless.
UConn Athletic Director David Benedict has done a great job finding head coaches.
