RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - One person died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:02 p.m., near White Lake Parkway and Sandpiper Drive in Reno, according to a Reno Police Department news release.

A vehicle struck two pedestrians as they were crossing White Lake Parkway outside of a marked crosswalk, the initial investigation found.

One of the pedestrians was declared deceased on scene. The other self-transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

It does appear impairment was a factor in this incident, the release said.

The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating.
