VERDI, Nev. (KOLO) - A suspect in a 2024 armed robbery at Sasquatch Tavern and Grill in Verdi has been found in custody in Winnemucca this week, according to a Saturday, Dec. 6, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

When deputies arrived at the scene in August 2024, they learned the suspect had displayed a firearm while demanding money from the bartender, the post said.

At the time of the incident, no suspect was identified.

After an investigation, the case was assigned to detectives who continued investigative follow-up and the analysis of forensic evidence and identified 65-year-old Ed Simon as a suspect.

In October 2025, a warrant for Simon’s arrest was granted.

This week, detectives learned that Simon was in custody in Winnemucca on other charges.
