A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Sunday at 9:18 p.m. for heavy snow until 10:45 p.m. for Western Essex and Eastern Essex.
"At 9:17 p.m., heavy snow was reported along a line extending from near Craftsbury to near West Haven. Movement was southeast at 25 mph," describes the weather service. "Very low visibility will pose a hazard to motorists. Accumulating snow will make travel difficult."
Locations impacted by the alert include Barre, Rutland, Chester, Montpelier, Island Pond, Lyndon, St. Johnsbury, Woodstock, Middlebury, Newport City, Vergennes, Morrisville, Orleans, Derby Center, Charleston, Braintree Hill, Killington, Glover, Waterbury Village and Websterville.
