IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa women’s wrestling dominated fifth-ranked Colorado Mesa, winning all but one match against an opponent featuring four top-10 wrestlers.
At 138 pounds, Lilly Luft secured a victory for the top-ranked Hawkeyes. Luft said her team approaches every opponent the same way.
“It doesn’t matter who we’re facing or who we’re stepping on the mat with. We’re going to wrestle our match and do our thing,” Luft said.
Blades competes in two weight classes
Kennedy Blades, the top wrestler in the country at 160 pounds, also won at 180 pounds. Competing in two weight classes in one day presented a unique challenge for Blades.
