MANCHESTER, N.H. —

A nursing assistant at a New Hampshire hospital is facing charges for the alleged sexual assault of a patient.

Alexander Colbath, 25, is charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault, according to the Manchester Police Department. He was originally arrested on Friday and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

"His arrest follows a report made to Manchester Police several days earlier that he had sexually assaulted a child being treated at the hospital," police wrote in a statement.

In the announcement of the arrest, police did not specify the hospital where the alleged incident occurred.
