TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Public Schools is considering significant changes for the next school year as the district faces a projected funding shortfall of more than $60 million.
Among the proposals are a transition to a four-day school week, staffing reductions and shifting some schools to new formats, including the possibility of converting Bowsher High School into a performing arts academy.
One of the district’s most well-known donors is now speaking out those changes.
Tom Brady, whose ties to local education include helping launch Toledo Technology Academy and Toledo Early College and serving on the Lourdes University board, said he remains committed to TPS.
Earlier this year, Brady and his wife donated $1 million to help support future teacher training programs on the Scott Park cam
