The Missouri State Board of Nursing recently announced $3.1 million in grant funding for 21 Missouri colleges and universities, including Crowder College.

The grants, offered through the Nursing Education Incentive Program (NEIP), are for recruiting, training and retaining a high-quality nursing workforce, the state said.

Crowder will get $150,000 for a hybrid LPN-to-RN program and for instructional design.

Since 2011, the board has awarded over $27 million in NEIP grants to expand nursing program capacity and to pilot new education programs in the state. This year’s awards include $1 million in funding approved by Gov. Mike Kehoe through an appropriation by the Missouri General Assembly, as well as an additional $2.1 million allocated from the board.
