SABINE PASS, Texas — A liquefied natural gas (LNG) “cool down cargo” from Ras Laffan, Qatar has berthed at the Golden Pass LNG terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas, marking a major step toward the facility’s first LNG production as commissioning and start-up activities move forward, according to a news release from the company.

“A cool down cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Ras Laffan, Qatar has berthed at the Golden Pass LNG terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas – signaling a major step toward first LNG production," according to the news release.

The company says the shipment will be used to prepare the facility’s infrastructure for operations. “The cool down cargo will be used to pre-cool the terminal's LNG storage tanks and associated equipment prior to the commencement of LNG production,”
