CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio is facing a messy burst of wintry weather Wednesday, with a snow-to-rain-to-snow setup likely to cause problems for both the morning and evening commutes.

Tuesday offers a comparatively quieter setup. A weak system brushing by the Great Lakes will drop some light snow across Northeast Ohio — generally up to an inch near Lake Erie — before tapering off in the afternoon.

Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 30s with increasing winds. Gusts will be in the 25 to 35 mph range.

A stronger low pressure system moves in Tuesday night and will pass north of Lake Erie on Wednesday, spreading precipitation back into the region after midnight.
