At 1:34 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning valid from Wednesday 4 a.m. until Thursday 7 a.m. for Northern Herkimer and Northern Fulton as well as Hamilton County.

"Total snow accumulations between 7 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts 12 to 14 inches along the south facing slopes of the Adirondacks in Herkimer and Hamilton counties. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph," can be anticipated according to the weather service.
