A preliminary housing needs assessment of the Roaring Fork Valley found the region will likely need about 7,200 new units of affordable housing to meet demand in the next 10 years.

A 2024 state law requires all municipalities to conduct and complete a housing needs assessment by the end of 2026. The assessment is being conducted across the valley with local governments from Aspen to Parachute. The coalition of governments is also completing the needs ass
