New Michigan State coach Pat Fitzgerald is reportedly adding a former program standout to his staff.

Max Bullough is leaving his job as linebackers coach at Notre Dame to return to his alma mater as linebackers coach, according to multiple reports Wednesday night, the first by On3, which reported he will earn a co-defensive coordinator role.

Bullough, part of a program legacy family, was a three-year starting linebacker and two-time team captain from 2010-13. He is coming off his second season coaching linebackers from the Fighting Irish, who opted out of a bowl game on Sunday after not making the College Football Playoff.
