BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Mayor-elect Sean Ryan confirmed that the plans to name Craig Macy as the interim Buffalo Police Commissioner.

“I am grateful for Craig Macy’s willingness to step into this role,” Ryan said in a release. “He is widely respected in the Department and has demonstrated consistent, results-driven service to this city. His leadership will ensure stability and professionalism at the Buffalo Police Department while we complete our nationwide search.”

Macy, a former U.S. Army Combat Engineer, recently accepted a position as the Senior Director of Community Security at the Buffalo Jewish Federation.
