FRANKFORT, Ky. (WFIE) - Court records show a not guilty plea was entered for an Evansville man charged in a shooting that took place at Kentucky State University.

As we’ve previously reported , 48-year-old Jacob Lee Bard is accused of shooting two people Tuesday at KSU in Frankfort.

Bard is being charged with murder and assault. He is the parent of a KSU student.

Officials say he appeared via Zoom for the court hearing with the judge setting his bond at $1 million cash.

They said Bard got into a fight before the shooting, but the reason he was on campus remains unclear.

Court records show his next hearing will be December 16 at 1 p.m.
