HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Several events are bringing history to life for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Amid the model aircraft, food stalls, and amusement rides, a chance to learn about a significant moment in American history on Ford Island.
“When growing up, I want to hear the history about the World War,” said Oahu resident Wendell Cabe. “So, having my kids now and getting older, I want them to want to encourage them to know the history of this island as well as what the brave people did back in the day for all of us.
Greg Ferris, director of education of the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, said, “This is hallowed ground, right? This is the epicenter of the Pearl Harbor attack. This is where it happened.”
