In either case you likely had a chance to sample some of that Lebanese grandmother’s best cooking — the kibbee, the stuffed grape leaves, the tabbouleh salad rich with parsley, the garlicky pasta called macaroon bil toum, the green beans and tomato sauce dish called lubia, and so much more.
You’ll be able to sample all those foods, as well as lamb chops, chicken kebabs, chicken sawarma, hummus, stuffed casings, the flatbread cooked over a dome oven and coated with spices, and assorted desserts if you visit St. Anthony – St. George Maronite Church at the corner of Park Avenue and Dana Street in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 7.
The church will host a Lebanese Food Festival that day, and there are no pre-orders.
