GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department has released body-worn and vehicle-mounted camera footage from a May 14 traffic stop that drew significant community attention.

A Guilford County Superior Court judge recently approved the release. The department has posted a compilation video of the traffic stop, along with eight additional recordings, on its YouTube page .

The incident initially drew attention after a video circulated on social media showing part of the interaction between officers and several men in a vehicle. Police said the clip did not show the full context of the encounter.

According to Greensboro Police Chief John Thompson, officers made contact with the vehicle at 11:40 p.m. on May 13 after responding to reports of shots fired in the area of Willow Road.
