The Greensboro City Council released bodycam footage of a controversial May traffic stop.
The footage was posted to the department’s YouTube page Thursday afternoon, shortly after members of the Greensboro City Council viewed the unredacted footage in a closed session meeting.
The traffic stop in question has prompted calls from activists to make changes to the way the city conducts such stops.
City officials asked the courts to view the video and Greensboro Police Chief John Thompson asked for the video to be released to the public after concerned residents criticized the stop and made calls for policy changes at the department.
