A man has died after his car 'crashed into a building' in the early hours of this morning (September 7).

Emergency services were called to a collision on Wigan Road in Leigh. According to Greater Manchester Police , a Nissan collided with a building.

A 39-year-old man was helped by members of the public and the emergency services but has since died.

The force said it is not thought that any other vehicles were involved.

An investigation has been launched, and anyone with information is being asked to come forward. In a statement,
