CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Fairmont man previously convicted of manslaughter, escaping from custody and fleeing while under the influence of alcohol will spend more than a decade in prison after being convicted of drug and firearms charges.

According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Vincent Irving Jones, 34, was sentenced Monday to 151 months (12.5 years) in prison after being found with methamphetamine and a .32 caliber pistol with an "obliterated" serial number in Marion County. Due to his prior convictions, he is prohibited from owning a firearm. He was indicted on the charges in November 2024.

Jones' case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as the Fairmont Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Will Rhee prosecut
