SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Iowa Transportation Commission, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, approved millions of dollars in funding for a project to build a new exit off Interstate 29 in Woodbury County.

The commission approved up to $4.8 million from the Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy fund for the construction of that new interchange, which is meant to improve access to the Southbridge Industrial area.

Current plans have it being built about two miles south of the Sergeant Bluff rest area, connecting Port Neal Road to the West with Old Highway 75 to the east.

The transportation commission says it expects that project to be completed by December 2027.
