LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The former London Mayor has filed to appeal the decision for his removal from office.

On Sept. 5, the London City Council unanimously voted to impeach Mayor Randall Weddle after bringing over a dozen charges against him. Six days later, the former mayor motioned to appeal the council's decision, alleging his removal was an "unlawful power grab" following months of "conspiring" against him.

The filing alleges the decision to be politically motivated, pointing out that Weddle's opponent from the 2022 election now occupies a seat on the city council.
