OMAHA, Neb. —
Mayor John Ewing Jr. is nearing his first 100 days in office, and he's highlighting big milestones in Omaha.
Ewing shared insights into his busy schedule and the progress made under his leadership.
"The reality is, people are excited," Ewing said.
He hopes the city keeps this same enthusiasm surrounding the city's growth, like getting The Crossroads development back on track.
"That should be about $1 billion investment in the city of Omaha. We think that's critical," Ewing said.
Ewing expressed confidence in retaining jobs.
"We have every belief that Union Pacific will be staying here in Omaha," Ewing said.
He also touted his efforts to propose a $40 million investment toward affordable housing through streetcar TIF funding, which still requires city council approval.
