AYDEN, N.C. (WITN) - An Ayden man has been charged after warrants say he left two of his dogs without food and water.
64-year-old Louis Clark was arrested by Ayden police yesterday.
Warrants say on Sunday, Clark let his two brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier dogs run free by abandoning them and leaving them without food and water.
Clark is facing two counts of cruelty to animals, two counts of animal abandonment, two counts of dog/cat/ferret vaccination and dogs running at large prohibited.
He’s additionally being charged with allowing his female dog, which was in heat, to run free through town, according to the warrants.
The warrants say Clark allowed the dogs to become injured and failed to care for their injuries.
Clark is in the Pitt County Jail facing an $8,000 bond.
