EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has teamed up with the Vanderburgh County Fire Department to enhance DUI enforcement.

Certified paramedics from the fire department will now be able to conduct evidentiary blood draws during certain impaired driving investigations.

This collaboration allows deputies to seek assistance from fire paramedics when a suspect is not being transported to jail or when paramedics are already on the scene providing medical care.

Sheriff Noah Robinson highlighted the benefits of the partnership.
