KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Leaders at Knoxville-Knox County EMA gave away 55 free weather radios to neighbors from Knox and surrounding counties on Tuesday evening.
The effort by first responders was Knox County EMA's contribution to the statewide program "Tune It Tuesday," coordinated by TEMA and Lowe's.
"This initiative aims to help Tennesseans prepare for emergencies by ensuring NOAA Weather Radios are correctly programmed to receive location-specific emergency alerts," a statement from Knox County EMA said.
