KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On this episode of The Scruffy City Beat, WBIR's podcast about music in Knoxville, we're talking to the people who run the music venue Pilot Light.

The venue, located on East Jackson Avenue has been around for 25 years and it's actually a non-profit. The venue allows artists to create independent, experimental music and performances.

Visual storyteller Jillian Taylor sat down with George Rutsyamuka, the incoming artistic director, Kat Brock, incoming executive director, and Jason Boardman, founder and outgoing executive about the venue's history, Knoxville's music scene and how they've kept it going for 25 years.

New episodes of Scruffy City Beat premiere every Wednesday on WBIR+ and the WBIR YouTube page.
