DENTON, N.C. — A Davidson County EMT and a Brookford Police Department officer have been arrested for allegedly destroying evidence in connection to an ongoing child sex abuse investigation involving their friends, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Benjamin Geoffrey Myers, 38, an active EMT with Davidson County EMS, and his wife, Jennifer Aree Myers, 44, a sworn officer with the Brookford Police Department in Catawba County, accessed government computer systems to obtain information about the investigation. Detectives said the information was then used to alert the primary suspect, resulting in the destruction of key evidence.
