SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man from Springfield was sentenced to seven years in prison for resisting arrest during a battery and assault, as well as possession of a controlled substance.
On Aug. 18, 2025, 43-year-old Jared Dimmitt pleaded guilty to resisting arrest for a felony and possessing a controlled substance while at a county jail, with a possession of a controlled substance charge dropped. Dimmitt and a co-defendant, Jayden Wright, were initially accused of robbery, assault, stealing and resisting arrest on Feb. 5, 2025.
