Police in South Australia are holding on to hope that new aerial technology might finally offer a breakthrough in the case of missing four-year-old Gus, whose disappearance from his family’s remote mid-north property has gripped the nation.
Acting Commissioner Linda Williams confirmed that specialist drone searches were carried out on Friday and Saturday nights, using infrared imaging equipment capable of detecting heat signatures and subtle ground disturbances.
The same cutting-edge system was deployed earlier this year in Port Lincoln during the hunt for the remains of alleged murder victim Julian Story.
