MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A Lowcountry high school band is set to represent South Carolina this November at the Bands of America Grand National Championship in Indiana.
The Wando High School Marching Band competed against numerous schools from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee on Saturday during the regional championship at Coastal Carolina University.
After winning the competition, the Wando Marching Band secured its spot for a preliminary performance at the grand national championships on Thursday, Nov. 14, in Lucas Oil Stadium.
The band is comprised of middle and high school musicians, as well as color guard members. In addition to the regional win, the team earned the 4A title and swept performance category awards.
