LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announced it will begin a traffic shift at the intersection of Old Wire Road and U.S. 21 in Lexington County, transitioning from a 4-way stop to a roundabout configuration starting Monday, October 13.

Drivers are urged to slow down and follow posted signs as crews work to implement the change. Warning signs have been placed throughout the area to alert motorists of the new traffic pattern.

Once traffic has been shifted to the roundabout, crews will remove the temporary pavement in the center to complete construction of the roundabout’s center island, followed by final paving and lane markings.
