SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A local soccer coach has won $300 courtesy of Pay It Forward.

Alfred, a local soccer coach, was nominated by Samantha Blackwood because of his positive attitude, willingness to do whatever it takes and his amazing work ethic.

Alfred was grateful to serve his community and was thankful for his nomination. He talked about his new league that was formed with the intention of guiding teenagers through sports.

"You got these kids that still want to play but can't in our adult leagues out here," Alfred said. "My thing was, why shut their dreams off now if they want to continue playing. Maybe they want to play because they couldn't play in school. This gives them the opportunity to keep playing."
